Daniel Rayford Obituary, Gaffney, SC Daniel “Danny” Rayford Peeler, age 61, of 237 Hickory Grove Road, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Atrium Health Hospital. Danny was born in Gaffney and was a beloved husband, son, brother, and friend. He was the devoted husband of Lynne Helms Peeler and the son of the late Billy Rayford Peeler and Kay Sullivan Peeler.
A proud graduate of Gaffney High School, Danny was known for his warm smile and kind spirit. He enjoyed fishing and camping, often sharing these passions with his family and friends. Above all, his greatest love was for his family, his church, and his faith in the Lord. Danny was a retired owner and operator of JP’s Tires and More, where his dedication and work ethic earned him the respect of many in the community.
He was a faithful member of El Bethel Baptist Church, actively participating in church activities and serving as a source of inspiration to those around him. In addition to his wife, Lynne, Danny leaves behind a son, Jonathon “JP” Peeler of Gaffney; a brother, Steve Peeler Cathy of Pacolet; two sisters, Cindy Gardner (Reverend Joel) of Blacksburg and Tracie Thomas Billy of Gaffney. He also is survived by his mother-in-law, Pearl Wood of Marshville, NC; brother in-law, Alan Helms Andrea of Hartsville; sister-in-law, Kim Hinson Doug of Monroe; a special great-niece, Jacie Jones of Cowpens; and several nieces and nephews. Danny was preceded in death by his beloved aunt, Carolyn Hames.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at El Bethel Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Larry Melton, Reverend Clifford Phillips, and Mr. Steve Allison. Interment will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to El Bethel Baptist Church, 116 Billy Goat Bridge Road, Gaffney, SC 29340.
