Born on April 21, 1953, in Mississippi, Allen was the son of Joe Pat Loftin and Ella Skates Loftin of Vicksburg. From an early age, he embraced core values of honesty, compassion, and responsibility values that shaped his character throughout his life. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1972 and earned an associate degree from Hinds Community College. His professional journey led him to a meaningful career at Sysco Food Services, where he worked from 1983 until his retirement in 2016. As Director of Facilities, Allen earned the respect of colleagues for his dedication, leadership, and strong work ethic. Those who worked with him remember him as dependable, humble, and committed to excellence.
However, Allen’s greatest passion was his faith. For nearly fifty years, he faithfully served as a deacon at Jackson First Assembly of God. His church was more than just a place of worship it was his extended family. Allen dedicated countless hours to serving others, encouraging fellow believers, and living out his Christian faith through quiet acts of service and unwavering commitment. Family was the heart of Allen’s life. He married Judy McGowan Loftin nearly 53 years ago, and their marriage was built on faith, love, and mutual devotion. Together, they created a warm home where their children learned the importance of character, compassion, and serving Christ. Allen often reminded his children, “Remember what your last name is,” encouraging them to live as faithful witnesses through their actions.
He is survived by his wife Judy; his son, Allen Joseph Loftin Leslie ; daughters Jennifer Loftin Mosquera Vinnie and Courtney Loftin Fleming Jared ; sister Sharlene Schlichtman (John); and his cherished grandchildren Griffin Fleming, Caden Fleming, Cooper Loftin, Mavrick Loftin, Jackson Mosquera, and Isabella Mosquera. His grandchildren brought him immense joy, and he treasured every moment supporting them at sporting events and family gatherings. Allen enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting with his son, tending his garden especially growing tomatoes and woodworking in his shop. An avid antique truck enthusiast, he was restoring a classic truck, reflecting his craftsmanship and love for preserving history.
Preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joe Pat “Butch” Loftin Jr., Allen’s memory remains close to his family’s heart. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Allen’s life with visitation on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, Mississippi.
