Anthony Bertos Obituary, It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Anthony John Bertos, age 39, of Dracut, Massachusetts, on June 10, 2026. Anthony was born on January 22, 1987, to George and Ann Meehan Bertos. A beloved son, father, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, Anthony touched the lives of many with his warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit. He was a talented artist, known for his creativity and passion, and he had an infectious laugh and a beautiful smile that could light up any room.
His personality was magnetic, and he was known for his loyalty and generous heart. A dedicated sports enthusiast, Anthony was an avid supporter of the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, and Boston Bruins. He loved attending games and sharing those moments with family and friends. In his free time, he enjoyed playing goalie in hockey, golfing, and spending quality time with loved ones. His joy for life was evident in everything he did.
Behind his lively exterior, Anthony fought a courageous battle with substance use disorder. Despite his efforts and resilience, the disease ultimately took him from us. We find solace in knowing that he is now at peace, free from the struggles that haunted him. We share his story openly to shed light on the reality of addiction and to encourage others to seek help or extend support to those battling this disease. Substance use disorder does not discriminate, and Anthony’s memory reminds us of the importance of compassion and understanding.
Anthony is survived by his parents, George and Ann Bertos; his sister Meghan Walker and her husband Thomas of Chelmsford; his brother Nicholas J. Bertos of York, Maine; his daughter Maddison Rose of Woburn, and her mother Bryana Stevenson. He also leaves behind his grandparents, John “Papou” and Virginia Bertos; his nephew Connor and niece Sophie Walker; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, John F. Meehan Sr. and Shirley Meehan, and his uncles, John F. Meehan Jr. and Richard Hunt. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home. His funeral service will be on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
