Kaitlyn M Delong Obituary,  a bright young woman of 20 years, tragically passed away on June 18, 2026. Born on July 27, 2005, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, Kaitlyn was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend whose life touched many. Kaitlyn was the daughter of Donald Delong, Jr. and Michelle Newsome. She grew up in Debord, Kentucky, where she was known for her kind heart and vibrant spirit. Throughout her life, Kaitlyn was surrounded by a loving family, including her stepmother, Latasha Delong, and her grandparents, Donald Delong, Michael Newsome, and Rebecca Sweeney. She was predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Sherry Delong, and her nephew, Holtyn Delong.

Her family was central to her life. Kaitlyn is survived by her father, Donald Delong, Jr., and her mother, Michelle Newsome, who is married to Jason Wiley. She also shared a strong bond with her stepmother, Latasha, and her brothers William (Alissa) Smith and Jordan (Angel Mollett) Delong. Her sisters included Jasmine (Shane Jude) Delong, Tosha Horn, and Hannah Smith. Kaitlyn’s aunts and uncles, Melissa (Chris) Sizemore, Melinda Ooten, Melissa (Makayla Horn) Newsome, Aaron (Ashley) Delong, Zack Delong, Grayson Delong, Dustin (Kristi), and Michael (Maggie) Newsome Jr., were also an important part of her life.

Kaitlyn loved her niece, Haizley Delong, and her nephew, Ryder Jude, who brought her immense joy. She shared special bonds with her first cousins, Brooke Moore and Blake (Brittany) Sizemore. Among her closest friends were her beloved boyfriend, John Haney, and her dear friends Brandon Newsome and Kylin Luster, whom she loved as her own little boy. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the Crum Funeral Home chapel, officiated by Randy Cassady. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at the Goble-Delong Family Cemetery in Debord, Kentucky. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Sunday, June 21, and Monday, June 22, from 5 PM to 9 PM. The arrangements are managed by Crum Funeral Home of Inez, Kentucky.
