Mary Clancy Obituary, Resident Of South Dennis Has Passed Away

Mary Clancy Obituary, 25 Years Old Woman, of South Dennis, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly at her home on April 12, 2024. Her family is devastated by the loss of a beloved daughter, sister, niece, and friend. Linny was born on October 16, 2000, in Jiangxi Province, China, and was adopted by Mark and Katie Clancy in December 2001, bringing immeasurable joy to their family during that special Christmas season. Linny’s life was marked by her vibrant spirit, creative talents, and her zest for life. A proud graduate of Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School in 2019, she continued her education at UMass Boston, earning her degree in 2023.

Her passion for art was evident in her stunning photographs capturing the natural beauty of Cape Cod, a hobby that brought her peace and joy. An accomplished athlete, Linny excelled in nearly every sport she pursued. She shined in gymnastics, demonstrating strength and agility, and was an all-star runner for her high school cross country and track teams, inspiring her teammates with her dedication. Her love for golf was evident when she scored a casual hole-in-one at Dennis Pines while golfing with her dad. She also found joy in CrossFit workouts shared with her mom, showcasing her strength and perseverance.

Linny’s heart was truly given to her dogs. She cherished daily snuggles with Ginny, Thomas, and especially Weezie, her constant companion. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved Boo, her first dog, whom she missed dearly. Her infectious laughter, whether mischievous giggles or hearty guffaws, brightened every room. Linny’s earnest spirit, sense of humor, and her love of sharing fun facts about everything from cars to pop culture made her unforgettable. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special, never forgetting a loved one’s birthday.

She leaves behind her parents, Mark and Katie Clancy; her sisters, Margaret, Caroline, and Ellen; her grandmothers, Dolores Ahern and Jacky Clancy; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Linny was predeceased by her grandfathers, Bob Clancy (“Pop”) and Dave Ahern. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Dennis-Yarmouth High School track and cross country program. A wake will be held on May 1st from 4 to 7 p.m. at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home in South Dennis. A memorial service will be held on May 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Dennis Union Church, where friends and family will gather to remember her bright and beautiful life.
