Peacefully, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family, Louis Elmer Corrigan of Dromore passed away at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the age of 73. Louis was a devoted father whose greatest pride was his family. He leaves behind his beloved children, Aaron Corrigan, Stacy Corrigan, and Melissa Corrigan (Rob), who will forever cherish the lessons, guidance, and unwavering love he shared throughout their lives.
He was also a proud and loving grandfather to Austin, Jenna, Rowan, Finleigh, and Corina. His grandchildren brought him immense joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them. Louis will be deeply missed by his brother, Edwin Corrigan (Susan), as well as his sisters-in-law, Rita Corrigan and Mary Lee Corrigan, and his brother-in-law, John McCaughey.
He will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family members, neighbors, and friends, all of whom were touched by his kindness, generosity, and warm spirit. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Wendy Corrigan (Kelly), whose memory remained close to his heart. Louis was also predeceased by his parents, James and Nellie Corrigan, and by his siblings Joe Corrigan, Reginald “Buddy” Corrigan (Linda), Helen McCaughey, and Allan Corrigan.
Though they have gone before him, their memories remained an important part of his life. Louis lived a life marked by dedication to family, friendship, and community. He will be remembered for his gentle nature, quiet strength, and the many ways he enriched the lives of those around him.
Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, where visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, Fort Augustus, on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., followed by interment in the parish cemetery. In memory of Louis, memorial donations may be made online to the Provincial Palliative Care Centre.
