Neil W. Rodgers Obituary, It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Neil Whitney Rodgers, who left us on June 12, 2026, at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine. Neil was born on February 13, 1948, in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, the son of Glenn Pike and Betty (Rodgers) Pike. His life was marked by kindness, resilience, and a deep love for family and friends.
After graduating from high school, Neil pursued studies in forestry, a field that reflected his appreciation for nature and the outdoors. He began his working life at McAllister’s and the Pub & Grub, gaining valuable experience and building lasting relationships in his community. His dedication and work ethic led him to a long career with Georgia Pacific, which he started in McAdam, New Brunswick. Throughout his career, Neil remained committed to his work, transferring later to Baileyville, Maine, and making his home in Calais. He retired from Georgia Pacific on March 17, 2013, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and integrity.
Neil enjoyed many friendships over the years and was known for his caring nature. He valued the people around him and was always willing to lend a helping hand. In his younger days, Neil found joy in hunting, fishing, and bowling, pursuits that brought him happiness and relaxation. One of his favorite places was Pleasant Lake Campground, where he cherished spending time and creating memories with loved ones. He had been looking forward to returning there, but sadly, that wish was not realized.
Neil is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah, of Calais and Lubec, Maine; his brother, Danny Rodgers of Calgary, Alberta; his son, Donnie Rodgers of Baring, Maine; his special daughter, Kellie (David) Randall of Baileyville, Maine; his daughters, Tammy Linkfield and Stacy Linton of Ontario; his stepdaughter, Connie (Danny) Jackson of St. Stephen, New Brunswick; his stepson, Richard Gallant of Ottawa, Ontario; and his three cherished grandchildren, Brendan Gallant of Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Grace and Griffin Gallant of Ottawa, Ontario. He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law, Sandra (Daniel) Apt and Patty (Steven) Russell, his brother-in-law, John Steadman, and a dear family friend, Jane Calhoun.
Over the past three years, Neil faced significant health challenges related to his heart and diabetes, demonstrating remarkable strength and determination through it all. His resilience and positive spirit were an inspiration to those around him. In accordance with Neil’s wishes, there will be no formal service.
